Introduction

Trudi® is the world’s first AI-powered virtual property assistant. This proptech company aims to help property managers manage their workload by centralizing all incoming inquiries and tasks into one platform, automating inquiries and tasks.

Problem

  • Tenant/landlord requests for property manager through traditional channels take too long to be resolved.

  • Information on tenancy/leases not easily accessible.

Solution

A companion app for tenants and landlords to easily raise inquiries directly to property managers with a personal AI Assistant to support at anytime.

Process

Initial problems

Receiving legacy design from previous team, there were many issues:

  1. Designs divided to multiple files (redundant since the project size is small)

  2. Lack of components & consistency across all files.

  3. Design in Sketch -> Prototype in InVision: time consuming process for a small team (at the time there was only me).

First steps

To tackle these problems while working on new features, I have created a proposal to the PO & COO, highlighting:

  • Existing problems of the working process, tools & design file.

  • Proposed alternative tool - Figma to include design, prototype & review for quicker process

  • Proposed solution to merge all design file for the app into one file for easy management.

  • Create components to ensure consistency across the project.

Evolution

Over time, the app evolved to include features like auto-translation, video calls, and out-of-office messages.

The most significant change was shifting from individual request-based message chains to a unified, single-thread conversation model.

Features

AI Assistant

AI Assistant answers any customer inquiry. Anything complex that requires property manager’s attention, she’ll gather the relevant information and pass the request into their Trudi Portal Inbox.

Direct Messaging

Direct messages between tenant/landlord with property manager to save time resolving urgent enquires.

Lease Summary

Most important lease information, easily accessible.

Video Call

A built-in video call feature to let property managers check on maintenance without leaving their desk. Take screenshots and screencasts directly from the video call to pass onto suppliers.

Auto Translation

Both user and property manager can send messages in their native language, the AI assistant will instantly translate everything.
